FM301 STREAM

Our company Flying Machines s.r.o. would like to proudly present new product. It is a two seater, all composite ultralight trike of frameless bear-loading construction. The latest technological procedures and modern materials were used it its construction, which allowed us to achieve not only excellent mechanical properties but due to simplifying the production techniques also significant price reduction.

The body of the trike consists of a composite shell produced in negative moulds reinforced with sandwich ribs. It is divided into three sections with an integrated fuel tank in the back. The tank contains fuel level sensor that together with the fuel level gauge on the instrument panel shows the amount of fuel in the tank. Besides that, the fuel level can be checked visually by looking through the transparent part of the tank.

The main landing gear is attached in the back of the trike. It is made of glass rowing and epoxy which provides for rugged strength and flexibility. Such landing gear is simple to install, inspect and maintain and if needed also very easy to replace.
The front wheel is steel spring-mounted with wide tire, equipped with a hydraulic brake offering high stability on the ground.
All front wheel control rods are conveniently placed inside the front beam. The pilots are not exposed to the airstream from the front wheel, since this is completely separated form the cockpit area. Pilot as well as a co-pilot / instructor can control the front wheel with the foot pedals. Throttle and brake controls, which are standardly installed only on the front pedals, may also be optionally installed on the back pedals.

The engine is attached to the engine mount, which is connected to the landing gear. It rests on the rubber silentblocks that effectively dump all vibrations. Simplicity of the engine mounting allows installation of any type of engine with the appropriate weight. Therefore, it makes it ideal for individual trike builders who would like to build part of their trike and reduce the overall costs.

The seat has composite construction with nice quality leather covering, ensuring fine mechanical properties as well as long term resistance to weather or other damage. It offers both pilots, especially the pilot in the back seat, very comfortable seating. Unbeatably large baggage compartment situated inside the trike’s body is accessible after the front seat headrest and the seats are removed. Since the shell of the body itself is load-bearing, the inside of the baggage compartment is fully open and unobstructed by any partitions. It easily accommodates bulky camping equipment and gear necessary for longer travel.

Front of the trike contains removable aerodynamic cover also called the nose piece, which improves not only the trike’s flight characteristics, but also the comfort of the pilots. It offers enough space to accommodate the feet of the pilot and partly shields the feet of the passenger from the airstream.

Spacious instrument panel offers plenty of space for installation of more than just basic flight and engine instruments.

Simplicity of the wing assembly has been very important for us since the beginning of this design. To enhance this approach, the trike features folding mast holding the wing. The mast pivots around the pins that are placed right behind the front seat. This solution simplifies wing assembly. Wing is then secured with one of the pins in the flight position. Pin bushings contain stops, therefore when the wing is lifted up; the mast will stop in the required position and only needs the main pin to secure it. Wing assembly to the trike can be easily performed by one person.

Aerodynamically very clean trike FM301 Stream together with excellent wing CZ15,4 is a perfect combination that offers ultralight pilots pleasant flight characteristics.
